It is pathetic little wretches like Centava Dozier who prove that Western civilization is falling apart. Yes, the man who bothered her is just as weird, but he has been arrested and dealt with. This pshycho broad has such a tenuous grasp on sanity, however, "that she had to leave her job and school" because of it. I am sorry, but if you are that mentally fragile, you should not be allowed out in public; maybe you need to have yourself institutionalized - at your own expense, not the public's. This incident does not merit her suing for $750,000. Grow up, woman.

Is the woman who was assaulted in the Catholic Church going to sue that Vatican? Lord knows they have enough money and plenty of experience with lawsuits. Maybe she can sue God for letting such a creep exist.

This is the world we live in, America. We have 9 year-olds poisoning their families and freaks crawling through windows and into the beds of little girls.

There is an apocryphal story that Jesus went to Hell after he was crucified. The Mormons say he went to America. Well, we have turned America into Hell, people, and according to Hugo Chavez, we are being led by Satan. Can you smell the brimstone? Or is that just the exploding power station?

Peter Parker was a nerd, perhaps, when he was young but he was never a doofus. Toby MacGuire is a doofus. Duck-lipped and bug-eyed, Peter Parker in Spiderman 3 is a played by Toby MacGuire as a complete doofus. It is as if Spiderman 2 never happened. This movie stunk.

So, did the black glob from space come from Saturday Night Fever planet, or is it one of the Body Thetans cast off from John Travolta? The movie doesn't seem to care where that black blob came from, but it gives Toby Parker a gay little strut (and by gay I don't mean homosexual). It looked the women doing double-takes at him on the street were mostly disgusted at what they saw. Was that what it was supposed to look like? I just didn't get that.

The jazz bar scene looks like something right out of The Mask, something you would have expected from a younger Jim Carrey, not Spiderman.

There was some good in this bomb. Thomas Haden Church as the Sandman was excellent. I can see him getting his own movie.

J. K. Simmons as J. Jonah Jameson is great. The funny scenes with him and his secretary had us laughing, a real treat when most of the time I was looking at my watch wondering when the movie would be over.

Pat Robertson lifts 1 Ton
Oh, Really?
Yes, really! says CBN
Not only can Pat Robertson leg press 1 ton, his doctor can press 2700 pounds!

These guys are heroic, huh? When I have worked out, I track the weight I do on each rep, looking for greater strength on individual reps by being able to lift more weight for the same number of reps, or more reps at the same weight.

When I started my Spartan program, I thought I would go ahead and calculate my total weight, that is the weight times the reps totaled. It adds up fast. The last two nights, I have lifted over two tons each night and that is just upper body work.

My short term goal now is to be able to do two upper body workouts each week with a total weight of 4 tons on each workout.

Today I will start figuring out how much I can do with my lower body work out.

The 300 Spartans Fitness Club

It all started innocently enough. Garrett posted a link to a comic strip, basically saying, "Yes, 300 was a cool movie based on a cool comic book, but not to many comic book guys can pull of the Spartan costume. Stick with dressing like Klingons". Wise words.

Then I thought, wouldn't it be great to show up at a con as a Spartan and really look the part? It would be. So I am starting to work toward that goal and to help out, I am trying to get my whole D&D group to do it with me.

When Darel and I tried Body-for-Life together, I found it was great to be able to get feedback from someone else and there is certainly the competition angle. We never worked out together, but exchanged notes online.

So here is my online log of the effort, 300 Spartans Fitness Program. I will flesh it out more later.

No rest for the weary. Somewhere I discovered Ayn Rand and thanks to my brother I have her three major works.

Anthem is a novella and a quick read, a cross between 1984 and Brave New World, although that may not be a fair comparison. Anthem was first published in 1938, a few years after BNW and 11 years before 1984.

The other two, however are monsters. Atlas Shrugged is an oversized book with 1168 pages. I started Fountainhead, which has fewer pages but smaller print. Hmmm, maybe that is why my eyes are so tired today.
